Óskar is a trained Paramedic and Firefighter and has worked as such in the capital area for the last 22 years. He also holds an International IMPA certification as a Project Manager. Leiguhýsi.is is a project he started in early 2025, which has evolved from an idea into a company with an agency for a major foreign trailer manufacturer in a short time. We have now taken the next step and offer an incredible selection of trailers and caravans in our new online store here at Kerrurogvagnar.is.
The idea for the company was born from his passion for the outdoors with his family, Icelandic nature, and camping. Many Icelanders do not realize the weight limits on trailers and drive on Iceland’s roads with trailers that are too heavy without having a BE driving license, the so-called trailer license. This involves costs and at least 4 driving lessons, which is unnecessary to go through just to rent a caravan and explore our beautiful Iceland for a week or two a year.
Leiguhýsi.is now offers Icelanders caravans that are under 750kg in total weight, so anyone with a standard driver’s license can head out on a camping trip worry-free and at an affordable price.
